Urquhart Castle

Urquhart Castle is a medieval castle that has been fought over for much of its existence. Troops of Edward the First took possession of it in the 1300s, and then Robert the Bruce was able to take it in the 1400s. The Lords of the Isles attacked it on different occasions for many years. In 1692, parts of it were blown up by government troops, so the Jacobites would never be able to use it. Castle admission is £14.00 and may be paid at check-in.
