Serengeti's Great Migration Private Tour

Description

The experience begins the moment you touch down at Kilimanjaro Airport, where you'll be met by your personal guide and an adventure-ready 4x4 Land Cruiser. This vehicle is your private safari pod, equipped with a pop-up roof, large windows for uninterrupted views, a fridge to keep your drinks cool, and even full An air conditioning (AC) system so you can share your favorite moments in real-time.

Your journey follows a carefully crafted route to give you the best of Tanzania. You’ll start in Tarangire National Park, a landscape dotted with ancient baobab trees and known for its massive elephant herds. From there, you'll descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, often called the "Garden of Eden" for its incredible density of wildlife, including the rare black rhino.

The core of your safari is dedicated to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. You'll spend two days exploring the central region, a hunting ground for Africa's most famous predators—lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Then, you'll venture north to the secluded and wild Northern Serengeti. Here, you'll be right in the thick of the action, with two full days dedicated to tracking the herds of the Great Migration and witnessing the legendary Mara River crossing. The sight of thousands of wildebeest and zebras braving the crocodile-infested river is a powerful, emotional, and unforgettable highlight.

The adventure concludes with a long, scenic drive that offers one last surprise: a visit to the surreal and vibrant Lake Natron. With its striking red waters and a backdrop of the "Mountain of God," it’s a fitting end to a truly epic journey before your flight home.

This isn't just a tour; it’s your own private safari tailored for discovery and adventure, ensuring every moment is personal and every memory is yours alone.

Know before you go

What to Pack: "Nice to Have" Items for Your Safari

While your safari package is all-inclusive, packing a few key items will significantly enhance your comfort and overall experience. Here are some things you'll be glad you brought along:

Clothing and Comfort

  • Layers are Key: Bring a variety of layers. Temperatures can be cool in the early mornings and late evenings, especially at the high altitude of the Ngorongoro Crater, but can get quite hot during the day.
  • Warm Clothes: A fleece jacket, sweater, and warm trousers for chilly early morning game drives and cool evenings.
  • Light, Neutral-Colored Clothes: Pack light-colored clothing (khaki, tan, grey) to blend in with the environment and avoid attracting insects. Avoid bright colors and camouflage patterns.
  • Comfortable Footwear: Sturdy, comfortable shoes or hiking boots are great for walking around the lodges, although you will be in the vehicle for most of the game drives.
  • Sun Protection: A wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen are essential for protection against the strong African sun.
  • Swimwear: If your mid-range accommodation has a swimming pool, you may want to bring swimwear to relax after a day of game drives.

Photography and Technology

  • Camera Equipment: The safari offers incredible photo opportunities. A camera with a telephoto lens (200-400mm is recommended) is ideal for capturing wildlife.
  • Extra Batteries and Memory Cards: You will be taking a lot of photos, so ensure you have plenty of spare batteries and memory cards.
  • Power Adapter: Tanzania uses a Type G plug (the same as in the UK). Bring a universal travel adapter to charge your devices.

Health and Personal Items

  • Insect Repellent: A strong insect repellent containing DEET is highly recommended, especially for evening hours.
  • Personal Medications: Bring an adequate supply of any personal or prescription medication you may need.
  • Small First-Aid Kit: Include essentials like pain relievers, bandages, antiseptic wipes, and any personal-care items you might need.
