Explore the medieval fort of Chittorgarh and an ancient Hindu temple in a small town named Pushkar. The Chittor Fort, or Chittorgarh, is the largest fort in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring this fort, you will head to Pushkar, which is a town bordering the Thar Desert, in the northeastern Indian state of Rajasthan. It is set on Pushkar Lake, a sacred Hindu site with 52 ghats (stone staircases) where pilgrims bathe. The town has hundreds of temples, including the 14th-century Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, dedicated to the god of creation, which has a distinctive red spire and walls inlaid with pilgrims’ silver coins.
