  • Cost of medical emergencies (including evacuation). We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

  • Travel Insurance or any loss or extra cost arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as flight delays, accidents, etc.

Know before you go

LUGGAGE & PACKING: Casual, comfortable clothes in breathable fabrics (cotton or synthetics), neutral colors. Bring long-sleeve shirts, long pants, and a swimsuit. Layering is ideal. A wide-brim hat and insect repellent (100% DEET) are essential. Comfortable walking shoes and sandals are sufficient. Rubber boots and ponchos are provided during excursions. Laundry services are available on board at extra cost. Baggage Allowance for domestic flights is 1 checked bag (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs) and 1 small carry-on (max 8 kg / 17 lbs). Luggage storage is available in Nauta during the cruise.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage for cancellations, medical emergencies, lost luggage, and evacuation.

HEALTH & SAFETY: Avoid carrying valuables; use your in-room safe. Vaccinations: Yellow fever is recommended but not required. Malaria pills are not necessary for cruise zones, but consult your doctor. Medical Kit: Bring personal meds, DEET repellent, antihistamines, Imodium, painkillers, and band-aids. A paramedic and basic meds are available onboard.

MONEY: Currency exchange is best done in banks, hotels, or at Lima airport. No currency exchange is available on board. Bring small Peruvian Soles (coins and small bills) to support local artisans during community visits.

ELECTRICITY: Peru uses 220V. The vessel has both 220V and 110V outlets. European round 2-pin and American flat 2-pin plugs work. Bring adapters for 3-prong or polarized plugs.

CONNECTIVITY: No reliable mobile coverage onboard. Signal may be available at selected points—check with your guide. Satellite Phone is available for emergencies (per-minute cost). No Wi-Fi or internet on board.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Bring all necessary gear, there’s no access to photo supplies during the cruise. Ask permission before photographing people in local communities.

COMMUNITY VISITS: Guests are welcome to bring small gifts for local children (e.g., T-shirts, notebooks, toys, pencils, or candies). Supporting local crafts is highly appreciated.

KAYAKING: Kayaks available for 2 guests per boat. Calm waters only, weather permitting. Guided by a naturalist.

WEATHER: High Water (Jan–Jun): Rainy season, higher river levels. Low Water (Jul–Dec): Dry season, more hiking options. The temperature ranges from 21–33°C (70–90°F). Humid year-round.
