- Rain jacket or umbrella: Weather conditions can change rapidly on the Big Island. While we have rain jackets and umbrellas available in the van, we encourage you to bring your own for personal comfort and fit.
- Comfortable shoes: Sturdy closed-toe shoes are required for walking on various terrains, including trails and lava fields.
- Reusable water bottle: Stay hydrated! (Water refills available in the van).
- Camera: To capture the incredible and awe-inspiring landscapes from coast to volcano, and everything in between.
- Sunscreen and sunglasses: For protection during daytime exploration.

Important Volcanic Safety Information:The dynamic environment of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park may present unique conditions. Airborne 'Pele's hair' (fine, glass-like fibers) or volcanic ash can sometimes be present, which may cause skin and eye irritation. For your protection, we strongly recommend:
- Long pants
- Long-sleeved top or jacket
- A hat (to protect hair and scalp)
- An extra set of clothes (in case you need to change due to exposure to volcanic ash or Pele's hair).
