Malaga Walking Tour with Gibralfaro Castle and Alcazaba Visits

Description

After rendezvousing with your guide, you’ll head to your first stop, Gibralfaro Castle. This place was first established on top of Mount Gibralfaro when the Phoenicians used to run things in this part of Spain, back in the 8th century BC. Aside from the boatloads of history on show here, its hilltop location means one thing – views. You’ll have plenty of time to snap pictures of the city and the coast before heading to another fortress, the Alcazaba of Malaga. This citadel was built in the 11th century during a period of Muslim rule, meaning the architecture is starkly different from the rest of Malaga.

From here, you’ll continue into Malaga’s city centre on your way to the harbour. Your guide for this tour is an expert who knows the city like the back of their hand, so they’ll tell you all about what daily life is like in Malaga. You’ll wrap things up by the waterfront, where you’re then free to head off and wander along the city’s café-and-shop-lined promenade.
