- Sumiyoshi Shrine
Marvelous stone lanterns donated by northern ship merchants, and impressive lanterns standing at approximately 5m tall. There are remnants of power stones that were lifted by strong Okinakashis in power competitions. Visitors pray before boarding.
- Jodo Temple
Known for its main hall and pagoda being national treasures. From the Jodo Temple Mountain (elevation 178.5m) behind it, you can admire the panoramic view of the Shingon Esoteric Buddhist practice area with numerous huge stones leading to the Jodo Temple's inner sanctuary near the mountaintop.
- Onomichi Bridge / Shin-Onomichi Bridge
Japan's first cable-stayed bridge. A valuable bridge that paved the way for cable-stayed bridges built throughout Japan.
The Shin-Onomichi Bridge is the first in Japan to experimentally adopt a dehumidification system circulating dry air instead of painting for anti-corrosion treatment inside the box girders. Both bridges symbolize a solid step towards further advancement in bridge engineering.
- Seto Inland Sea's Beautiful Islands
Once through the Onomichi Strait, you can overlook the numerous islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea.
If you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the Shikoku mountain range and even encounter a "sunameri."

- Itsukushima Shrine
The grand torii gate and stone lanterns that can be visited from the sea are worth seeing.
Itsukushima Daimyojin is a deity where a goddess, her husband, and their children are all combined. In addition to praying for maritime safety, visit for blessings in relationships and fertility.
