Tour of Tuscany: Montepulciano, Boutique, Pienza, and Val d’Orcia

This tour is an invitation to explore the unmistakable beauty of Tuscany, with its charming villages, stunning landscapes, and centuries-old wine traditions. The journey begins in Montepulciano, one of the most famous wine destinations in the region, and continues through some of the most picturesque locations of Val d’Orcia.

1. Montepulciano – The City of Vino Nobile (10:30)

The morning begins in the medieval town of Montepulciano, famous for its Renaissance architecture and, of course, for the excellent Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, considered one of Italy's most prestigious wines. The town is perched on top of a hill, offering stunning panoramic views of the Tuscan hills.

During the city tour, you will explore its narrow streets and historic squares, like the Piazza Grande, which is the heart of the town. Also visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the imposing Palazzo Comunale, a magnificent example of medieval architecture.

2. Boutique Winery and Historic Vino Nobile (12:00)

The experience becomes even more special with this guided visit to a boutique winery, where you will learn about the techniques and winemaking processes that result in the famous Vino Nobile. The wine tasting with lunch allows you to taste various types of wines from the region, accompanied by a lunch featuring local products, in a historic mansion in a cozy and authentic atmosphere.

3. Pienza – (14:45)

Founded in the 15th century by Pope Pius II, who wanted to turn his hometown into an ideal Renaissance city, Pienza is known for its well-preserved Renaissance architecture.

The town features narrow cobblestone streets, picturesque squares, and beautiful historic buildings, such as the Cathedral of Pienza and the Piccolomini Palace.

In addition to its stunning architecture, Pienza is also famous for its pecorino cheeses, especially aged pecorino, which is one of the most appreciated Italian cheeses. Visitors can taste and purchase local cheeses at various shops and cheese stores in Pienza.

The town also offers stunning views of the Tuscan landscape, with green hills, vineyards, and olive groves stretching to the horizon. Strolling through the streets of Pienza and enjoying the natural beauty around is a truly enchanting experience.

4. Val d’Orcia – The Iconic Landscape (16:00)

The final part of the tour takes you through the Val d'Orcia, one of the most photographed places in Tuscany, with its rolling hills, lined cypress trees, and golden fields of wheat and sunflowers. The region is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its landscapes offer a unique visual experience.

During the trip, you will have time to admire the natural beauty, with strategic stops for photos and to soak in the bucolic atmosphere of the region. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the most beautiful sunset in Tuscany, perhaps even in the world.

6. Return with arrival at (18:30) - We will conclude our tour where you prefer: At your Hotel or Piazzale Michelangelo for a beautiful sunset, or at Florence's largest shopping center, I Gigli.
