La Boca Urban Art

Description

Join us on a journey through La Boca, a barrio in Buenos Aires that is known for its rich culture, football, and street art. Although it is one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city, it has a thriving tourism scene and is home to one of the biggest football clubs on the continent. Our tour will take you through the visually impacting murals and pieces that make biting social commentary, giving you a glimpse into the true identity of a working-class neighborhood that is fighting back by spilling paint on the walls.

Our tour will explore the Usina del Arte area and its transformation through street

art. You will get to see artworks by some of Buenos Aires’ top street artists, including Gordo Pelota, Martín Ron, Red Sudakas, and fileteadores del Conurbano, among others.

As you witness these stunning works of art, you will learn about the history of Argentine street art, the reflection of Argentine idiosyncrasy and history on La Boca’s walls, and the relationship between street art and popular class culture.

The street art of La Boca creates a poignant narrative about left-wing politics, gentrification, football hooliganism, and feminism in Argentina and Latin America. You will get to witness this narrative firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of the issues that the community is facing. The tour will finish in Caminito, one of the most iconic areas of Buenos Aires. You can feel free to explore on your own or add a short private tour of the area with us. Join us on this tour and discover the true heart of La Boca.
