Porteña Cooking Class

Description
What is a porteño? The traditional narrative is that a porteño is Italian or Spanish and deeply influenced by their European roots. Classic Buenos Aires cuisine is a mixture of all the European immigrant kitchens that arrived from the late 1800s through the mid-1900s. However, although European immigration flattened post WWII, internal immigration from Latin America took its place. The contemporary food scene is reflective of that. Our menu is going to show a mixture of different immigration patterns (more casual Paraguayan breads + typical Italo-Hispano menu) to open discussion about the myriad of cultures that make this city unique.
