Tibet Mount Kailash Pilgrimage Tour starts from Kathmandu (1400 m), Nepal to China border. Mt. Kailash (6638 m) lies on the remote western Tibetan plateau. It is a holy mountain for Hindu and Buddhist people.
Hindu people believe that Lord Shiva resides at the top of Mount Kailash. Thus an expedition to Mount Kailash is prohibited.
Jain people also give huge respect to Mount Kailash. They call it Mount Ashtapada. As per them, the place where the great sage Rishabhadeva, the founder of Jain religion, attained nirvana, here on the peak of Mt. Ashtapada.
