This unique private expedition combines both glacier hiking and ice climbing, designed for those who want to experience one of the true natural wonders of the Earth.

You will meet your experienced guide at Troll.is – Sólheimajökull, where you will be fully geared up — including professional hiking boots suitable for climbing, provided at no extra cost. From there, you will walk toward the glacier tongue, an outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull.

Before stepping onto the ice, your guide will demonstrate how to use all the equipment and provide a full safety briefing. Once on the glacier, you will explore breathtaking ice formations, crevasses, and moulins while learning how these ever-changing features are formed.

You will then have the opportunity to challenge gravity by climbing up or down an ice wall chosen by your guide after a safety assessment, using the ice axes and crampons we provide. You’ll be in the expert hands of our experienced guides, who will ensure the experience is both safe and enjoyable while teaching you the technical aspects of ice climbing step by step.
