Four Natural Ecosystems In One Hike

Description

You will do this half-day hike across the unique area of Nature Park "Piejūra" (Seaside in English). You will see four different ecosystems: coastal pine forest, a cascade of wild coastal lakes, gorgeous sandy and secluded Baltic Beach and Gauja River delta. You will walk off-the-beaten-path for 10 – 15 km (6 – 9 miles). You will soak up the energy of pristine Latvian nature and see places that most travelers don't have a chance to see. You will also get to know a lot about Latvian traditions, culture, and history on your way. Our guides are nature experts and have the best local knowledge. You will travel like a local, in a very small group of like-minded people.

Know before you go

  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for walking. Check out the weather before you go and adjust your footwear and clothing accordingly.
  • We don't serve vegan food or any other dietary requirements (please take your own food with you if you have such).
  • Take your swimming suit and a towel with you if you come on a warm day in the summer months (from June to August). You'll have a chance to take a dip in the Baltic Sea and Gauja River during the hike.
