Japanese ‘Bento’ Cooking Class in Kyoto

Description

The Japanese traditional lunch box, or “Bento,” is a unique expression of Japan’s food culture, beautifully arranged with small portions of various dishes.

This 3-hour morning class (9:30 am–12:30 pm) offers a hands-on opportunity to learn how to prepare typical Japanese home-style dishes such as teriyaki chicken, tempura, and miso soup. You’ll also gain insight into the cultural background and history of the Japanese Bento.

During the class, your instructor will demonstrate each recipe and share useful tips for presentation and balance. Then, you’ll try making your own Bento under their guidance. Once everything is ready, sit down to enjoy the meal you’ve created!

For vegetarian participants, meat and fish will be replaced with vegetables or other suitable ingredients.
